Michelle is an aspiring artist living in the Northern Ontario city of Sault Ste. Marie. She is currently being mentored through the Mastrius program by professional artist Caprice Hogg. Her interest lies in Landscape and Floral painting, and the Algoma District provides her with endless inspiration, from vast farmlands to the rocky shores of the Great Lakes. Michelle’s interest in art began when she was a young girl, watching her grandfather use watercolor to create paintings which covered the walls of his home. It wasn’t until she faced life altering health challenges that Michelle picked up the paint brush and began painting herself. She describes painting as a form of therapy, almost meditative, and the bright colours she chooses bring her joy.
